THE NEW LAODICEAN ‘MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE’ HAS A WHOLE LOT OF TECHNOLOGY BUT HARDLY ANY JESUS OF NAZARETH

The Washington Post article has outraged some conservatives. Newsmax sputtered out, “God’s word seems to have been watered down in the new Museum of the Bible.” Financed in large part by the Green family of Hobby Lobby fame, the Museum of the Bible has been eagerly anticipated by conservative evangelicals since the announcement of the coming museum in 2010. The Washington Post article may put a damper on some evangelical excitement though. The criticism that will probably ring the loudest in conservative evangelical ears is the seeming exclusion of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

IT HASN’T EVEN OPENED, AND YET THE MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE IS ALREADY EMBROILED IN CONTROVERSY (AGAIN). THE CONSERVATIVE BLOGOSPHERE POUNCED AFTER THE WASHINGTON POST PUBLISHED AN ARTICLE TITLED, “SNEAK PEEK: D.C.’S HUGE NEW MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE CONTAINS LOTS OF TECH – BUT NOT A LOT OF JESUS.”

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: The builders of the brand-new Museum Of The Bible in Washington, DC, want you to be enthralled with the “stories” of the Bible. It dazzles the viewer with an 21st century infusion of technology, and will be a big hit with the “disney” Christian set. But absent from this million dollar boondoggle are just about anything to do with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the most miraculous event in human history to date. This museum will serve very nicely as the new temple of Laodicean Christianity, and should make tons and tons of money for its investors. But Jesus of Nazareth won’t be within a million miles of the place.

Planning to open its 430,000 square feet of space on November 17, the Museum of the Bible will “provide guests with an immersive and personalized experience as they explore the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible. Museum of the Bible will be an unparalleled experience, using cutting-edge technology to bring the Bible to life. It will span time, space, and cultures, inviting everyone to engage with the Bible.”

Worrying some conservatives, the Washington Post points out that the Museum of the Bible “doesn’t say a word about the Bible’s views on sexuality or contraception. The museum doesn’t encourage visitors to take the Bible literally or to believe that the Bible has only one correct form.” The article added, “And on floor after gleaming floor of exhibitions, there is very little Jesus.”

This isn’t the evangelism that the billionaire Green family first promised a decade ago when they set out to build a museum dedicated to Scripture. At the time, the museum’s mission statement promised to “bring to life the living word of God . . . to inspire confidence in the absolute authority’ of the Bible, the book at the institution’s center.”

THE WASHINGTON POST ARTICLE HAS OUTRAGED SOME CONSERVATIVES. NEWSMAX SPUTTERED OUT, “GOD’S WORD SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN WATERED DOWN IN THE NEW MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE.”

Financed in large part by the Green family of Hobby Lobby fame, the Museum of the Bible has been eagerly anticipated by conservative evangelicals since the announcement of the coming museum in 2010. The Washington Post article may put a damper on some evangelical excitement though.

The criticism that will probably ring the loudest in conservative evangelical ears is the seeming exclusion of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

JESUS IS ALSO CURIOUSLY NOT CENTRAL TO THE MUSEUM’S PRESENTATION OF THE BIBLICAL STORY. VISITORS WALK THROUGH A MULTIROOM SAGA OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, AND THEY CAN VISIT A RE-CREATION OF A 1ST-CENTURY VILLAGE IN GALILEE WHERE ACTORS WILL TELL THEM WHAT THE VILLAGERS THINK OF THIS CONTROVERSIAL PREACHER JESUS. THEY CAN WATCH A MOVIE ABOUT JOHN THE BAPTIST. BUT THE STORY OF JESUS’ CRUCIFIXION AND RESURRECTION IS ALMOST ABSENT.

AS TO BE EXPECTED, PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANS BELIEVE THAT THE MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE CONTAINS TOO MUCH EVANGELICAL PROSELYTIZING.

Speaking to the Washington Post, secretary of the Society of Biblical Literature Steven Friesen confesses that “there is debate in the academic community about whether to do research involving the Greens’ collection.” He is advising fellow scholars to steer clear.

Friesen hasn’t seen the museum, but he believes from reading the website that its materials subtly promote a singular version of Scripture; indeed, the museum mostly omits discussion about how the Bible was compiled and which religious traditions believe which disputed books belong in the Bible. Museum staffers say the place for discussing issues such as sexuality and abortion, which aren’t mentioned in the exhibits, might be at events hosted at the museum. Friesen thinks those events are meant to draw in influential people to hear the Greens’ opinions on the culture wars.

MY GUESS IS THAT THEY’VE WORKED VERY HARD AT COVERING WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO DO, TRYING TO HIDE THE AGENDA THAT IS BEHIND THE MUSEUM, DEFINING THAT AGENDA AS THE PROMOTION OF THEIR DEEP FAITH IN THE LITERAL TRUTH OF THE BIBLE.

Friesen’s negative response to the Museum of the Bible reveals far more than the conservative hand-wringing does. It would be impossible for the Museum of the Bible to satisfy every corner of evangelicalism; like most things this large, everyone can probably find something that they wish was done differently if they look hard enough. The fact that a progressive “Christian” like Steven Friesen believes that conservative Christian theology and ethics are brimming just under the surface of the Museum of the Bible should be all the reassurance that conservatives need. source

What Caused Noah’s Flood? Shocking New Biblical Evidence Spooks Researchers

First, a message from Ingenuity Films

Some believe that discussing real-world evidence takes God “out of the equation” however, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Evidence (such as what is presented in this article) proves the validity of God in the Bible and ignoring evidence left behind by God for our edification only helps the secular world to deceive and bury Biblical truth with their own uncontested version of history. All of the events in the Bible took place by the will of God, but we also understand that throughout the old testament, there are countless examples of God using human armies, leaders and natural disasters to carry out His will. The Great Flood is no different, and the fact that evidence does indeed exist that explains this event just may be the proof that someone out there needs to revisit the Bible with an open heart.

Now on to the main article…

The Bible appears to indicate that several of the approaching end-time events will be similar to those in Noah’s day as Matthew 24:37 tells us “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man”. Perhaps the most significant event in Noah’s day was that which caused the destruction of the entire world by water commonly referred to as “Noah’s Flood”.

For centuries, churches have taught that the it rained for 40 days and nights, and by some miracle, this was able to flood the entire Earth over the highest mountains; whereas, scientific research claims that the math doesn’t add up – making this event nothing more than an ancient myth. The truth, and shocking to most Christians, is that the Bible clearly states that rain was NOT the primary reason for flooding. In fact, the scripture state that “…on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open…” (Genesis 7:11). So, no longer is believing in the Great Flood a matter of faith, but is a matter of scientific fact – and the direct cause was something called a geographical pole shift which occured thousands of years ago! Geographic shifts are ones in which the entire planet is suddenly and dramatically moved from its axis; causing untold devastation on Earth’s surface. Of course, the Old Testament doesn’t use the modern day term of “pole shift” when describing the great flood; however, it provides enough detail about the Earth before, during, and after the event to prove to us that an Axial Pole Shift did indeed occur; according to research conducted by Brent Miller at Ingenuity Films LLC.

First. we are told in Genesis 2:6 that in the early days of man, it never rained upon the Earth and that the entire surface was watered from the mist upon it. During this period before the flood, there were NO SEASONS or storms and the entire planet would have existed at a temperate equilibrium with tropical vegetation – including at what we would call our current North and South poles. In fact, petrified tropical trees have been recently discovered under the ice in Antarctica proving this statement! Scientifically, the only way to achieve this temperate paradise would be if the geographic axis of the Earth was parallel to that of the Sun, or in other words, at zero degrees. Genesis then clearly states that AFTER the flood (for the first time) there was a rainbow seen by Noah in the sky (Gen 9:13) which is was only now possible since precipitation never fell from the heavens which causes the light refraction necessary for a rainbow.

Today, the Earth’s axis now sits at 23.5 degree which creates frozen poles, seasons, rain and violent storms as the uneven heating and freezing of the planet creates weather systems. But, let’s back up and address exactly what the “fountains of the deep” explained in Genesis were and how was it able to flood the entire planet in such a short period of time. Quite simply, the fountains of the deep were the oceans themselves which makes up 71% of the Earth’s surface. Basic physics models shows how the flood could have been caused by a shift in centripetal force and angular momentum exerted upon the oceans resulting from an axial pole shift – causing them to overflow their banks during the days and weeks the pole shift was occurring before the Earth stabilized into a new axial position.

Ours oceans have an average depth of 2.28 miles whereas the Earth’s dry land has an average height of less than 0.5 mile, so it’s easy to see that the entire planet could be completely covered by oceans many times over during such a catastrophic event. It would also take very little “shifting” of the planet to destroy virtually all life on Earth. During the shift, the waters would rapidly and violently erode the surface of the planet as unprecedented amounts of deep water flowed back and forth; covering mountain ranges with the force of thousands of pounds per square inch. We are told that the waters covered the world for 150 days before they began to recede. During this time most of the evidence for the existence population of the planet, including cities and roads, would be virtually entirely erased. Sites such as the Grand Canyon in the United States could have been formed by massive amounts of rushing ocean water in a matter of weeks or months rather than over millions of years as many geologists believe. This also explains why fossilized sea life and coral are found throughout the world’s deserts as well on top of our highest mountain ranges!

This is only the beginning of this story though, and Ingenuity Films continues to conduct research around the world; uncovering unprecedented evidence that is revealed through new courses and documentaries.

Bible Codes: NASA Discovery of Nibiru Is Pre-Messianic Warning to World [VIDEO]

“He reckoned the number of the stars; to each He gave its name.” Psalms 147:4 (The Israel Bible™)

The recent NASA discovery of the fabled Planet X was accompanied by a parallel revelation from a Bible codes expert who found hidden clues in the Bible that the planet is indeed Nibiru, sent by God as a pre-Messianic warning to the world: repent.

The Bible codes even went so far as to suggest that recent atmospheric and geologic upheavals, such as massive hurricanes and earthquakes, are connected to this discovery.

After years of debunking and denying the existence of Planet X, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced two weeks ago that researchers at Caltech had found evidence of a still-unseen ninth planet. The scientists theorized that in order to account for anomalies in the orbits of other smaller objects, a planetary body ten times the size of the Earth must exist. They believe it has a radical elliptical orbit that takes it as far away as 60 billion miles from the sun, requiring 10,000-20,000 Earth years for one complete orbit.

This new discovery seems to conform to the predictions of Nibiru, a large planetary object that many believe will collide with the earth. The Nibiru theory is so prevalent and the similarities to the Caltech discovery so striking that NASA went to the trouble of denying any connection between Planet X and Nibiru. The scientific community believes is a hoax, and NASA has frequently published articles debunking Nibiru.

In a video he produced about the NASA discovery, Bible codes expert Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson stated that not only is the new discovery indeed the planet Nibiru, but it has come at this specific time in order to usher in the Messianic era, bringing with it many of the prophesied pre-Messianic natural disasters.

Using a special computer program that arranges the letters of the Bible in a grid and searches for letters at specific intervals, Rabbi Glazerson found the word ‘Nibiru’ in the section of Exodus dealing with the Golden Calf. The Bible code program revealed ‘the Star Nibiru’ directly adjacent to the word ‘Moshiach’ (Messiah).

Remarkably, the last letter of the word Moshiach was part of a group of letters designating this year in the Hebrew calendar: 5778.

In the same section of the Bible, Rabbi Glazerson found the word ‘hatra’ah’ (warning).

“This is a message to the entire world,” Rabbi Glazerson said in the video. “Nibiru is to warn the world to do teshuva (repentance). Not only Israel, but also the world has to repent by observing the seven Noahide Laws.”

In a separate search, Rabbi Glazerson also found the word ‘Nibiru’ in a section of the book of Numbers, describing how the false prophet Balaam was sent to curse the nation of Israel but blessed them instead.

What I see for them is not yet, What I behold will not be soon: A star rises from Yaakov, A scepter comes forth from Yisrael; It smashes the brow of Moab, The foundation of all children of ShetNumbers 24:17

In this code, the word ‘Nibiru’ intersected with the Hebrew word ‘karov’ (soon). Rabbi Glazerson emphasized that Rabbi Moses ben Maimon, known by the acronym Rambam, the foremost Torah authority of the 12th century, cited this verse as being the source in the Torah for the Messiah.

“These are the days before the Messiah, and those who are creating trouble for the Jews, the Arabs and Edom, will have to pay for it,” Rabbi Glazerson said. “All the natural troubles that are happening now, the hurricanes, fires and earthquakes, could be the effect of this star. We really don’t know.”

Rabbi Glazerson emphasized the importance of this message.

“We are praying that Messiah will come, so that he will save us from all the threats that we are experiencing at this time,” he concluded.

Who Do You Say That I Am?: Idols vs. The Real Jesus

idolsoct192017

BY JOHN STONESTREET/BREAKPOINT.ORG OCTOBER 19, 2017

Who is Jesus? It’s a foundational question, and one many Christians struggle to answer.

In Matthew 16, Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

“Some say John the Baptist,” they replied, “others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But who do you say that I am?”

These days, increasingly odd and just plain wrong answers to Jesus’ question seem to be floating around everywhere, and churches are one of the easiest places to find them. This shouldn’t surprise us, however. As we’ve said before on BreakPoint, beliefs come in bunches.

So when you see increasingly unorthodox and innovative ideas about sex, marriage, and the human person coming from religious leaders, you can bet they’re also entertaining increasingly unorthodox and innovative ideas about truth, the Bible, and even God Himself.

For example, Dr. Karen Oliveto, the first openly lesbian bishop in the United Methodist Church, recently offered this message to her flock:

“Too many folks want to box Jesus in,” she wrote, “carve him in stone, create an idol out of him. [But] the wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting one, prince of peace, was as human as you and me. Like you and me, he didn’t have his life figured out.” Jesus had “bigotries and prejudices,” she added, even sins which He had to learn to overcome.

Wait, Jesus can be an “idol”? As John Lomperis with the Institute on Religion and Democracy remarked, “[A]n idol is something other than God, usually something created by human hands, improperly worshiped as a god.” But Jesus is God. For Dr. Oliveto to suggest that it’s improper to worship God is like suggesting it’s improper to love your spouse.

And a Jesus who sinned wouldn’t have been God, nor worthy of our worship. Ironically, this bishop’s imaginary Jesus would be the idol–along with the Jesus of the Arian and Unitarian heresies, which teach that Jesus was a good man but a created being, not God in human flesh.

But before we give Dr. Oliveto too much grief, we ought to ask where our own theology is.

A 2014 LifeWay Research survey of self-described evangelicals found that while nearly all profess belief in the Trinity, one in four say God the Father is “more divine” than Jesus. That’s similar to what the Arians believed, it’s the error the Nicene Creed was written to combat.

In another survey conducted last year, LifeWay talked only with those who held core evangelical and conservative beliefs. Yet an astonishing seven in ten said Jesus was the first being created by God–again, a defining feature of Arianism. And more than a quarter held that the Holy Spirit is not equal with either the Father or the Son.

This sad mess shouldn’t just bother theological eggheads. These errors strike at the heart of Christianity, giving fundamentally unscriptural answers to the question, “Who is Jesus?”

Answering this question correctly is itself an act of worship. It’s a vital part of knowing and loving our God as He is. And it impacts Christians’ lives at the most basic level.

For example, because Jesus is equal with the Father and fully God means He can truly pardon us. As the scribes in Mark 2 correctly observed, “Only God can forgive sins.”

Yet Jesus is also fully human. In order to serve as our High Priest, He became like us in every respect, as Hebrews 2:17 says. In order to redeem Adam’s race, the Last Adam had to belong to it.

This God-Man was not only sinless, He is entirely worthy of our worship. In reply to His question, “Who do you say that I am?” We should be able to say with Peter, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and with Thomas, who fell on His knees before the risen Jesus and said, “My Lord and my God.”

Senate, House Resolutions Slam UNESCO, Support Jewish Jerusalem

“Behold, I will make Yerushalayim a bowl of reeling for the peoples all around. Yehuda shall be caught up in the siege upon Yerushalayim.” Zechariah 12:2 (The Israel Bible™)

One day after the US pulled out of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) due to its anti-Israel bias, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla) doubled down with twin resolutions supporting the historic and Biblical Jewish connection to Jerusalem that UNESCO has tried to erase.

Last week, Rep. Gaetz presented a resolution to the Congress in support of Israel and Jerusalem. The resolution condemns UNESCO’s anti-Israel actions and calls on the US to prevent such resolutions in the future. Later in the week, Senator Cruz will present an identical resolution to the Senate.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)

“I rise today to support our friend and ally Israel and to stand for the obvious proposition that Israel, the Jewish people, have an ancient connection to the city of Jerusalem,” Gaetz told the press after presenting Resolution 570 to the House.

“This connection has been forged through millennia shared faith and shared history, yet the UN is actually trying to rewrite history and condemn Jerusalem and call it an occupying power in Jerusalem and prevent scientists from excavating even though past findings have been significant.”

“They have been silent when Israel’s culture has been attacked including the desecration and burning of holy sites,” Gaetz continued, referring to the Tomb of Joseph, which has been burned and vandalized multiple times. “[The UN’s] cruelty and attempts to erase history and anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated any longer.”

Senator Cruz, who co-authored the resolution, is expected to present the sister motion, Resolution 291, to the Senate later this week. Cruz addressed the press alongside Gaetz.

“I am proud to have worked with Rep. Matt Gaetz on this bicameral resolution that formally rejects UNESCO’s shameful and absurd attempts to deliberately erase the history of Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital,” Cruz said on Friday. “This resolution reaffirms the profound historical connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem that has existed for thousands of years, describes archeological excavations at the City of David that have revealed incontrovertible, physical evidence of the Jewish, as well as Christian ties to Jerusalem, and denounces efforts at UNESCO to delegitimize Israel and deny historical truth.”

Senator Ted Cruz (Wikimedia Commons)

Over the past year, UNESCO has passed a number of resolutions attempting to negate the connection between Israel and Jewish holy sites within its borders. In May, the organization passed two resolutions on “Occupied Palestine” which stated that Israel has no legal or historical rights anywhere in Jerusalem and referred to the Jewish holy sites in Arabic, while placing blame for the regional conflict solely on Israel.

In July, UNESCO declared “occupied Hebron and the Ibrahim Mosque”, known to Jews and Christians as the Cave of the Patriarchs, as “Palestinian World Heritage Sites under threat from Israel”. This resolution contradicted the Biblical narrative of Abraham’s legal purchase of the cave as a burial site for Sarah.

Thus the field with its cave passed from the Hittites to Avraham, as a burial site. Genesis 23:20

Directly targeting the UNESCO resolutions, the Gaetz-Cruz resolution notes the “3,000 years, Jerusalem has played a central role in the history and identity of the Jewish people” and refers to the “holiest site for the Jewish people, the Temple Mount”. The resolution also emphasizes the religious significance of the city to Christians as well as Muslims.

In addition, the resolution expresses support for the Israeli government’s protection of religious freedom for all faiths.

NASA Admits Existence of Massive Planet X, Sparking Nibiru Apocalypse Controversy

After years of denying and debunking, NASA scientists confirmed the existence of a ninth planet in a discovery that seems to conform to popular theories of an apocalyptic collision with a planet called Nibiru. Skeptics on both sides bring their arguments, while researchers continue to present more amazing discoveries of this yet-to be-seen addition to the solar system.

On October 4th, NASA published a press release stating that it had discovered unmistakable evidence of a ninth planet in the far extremes of space, orbiting the solar system. The planet is surmised to be ten times the mass of Earth, but it has yet to be seen since its elliptical orbit is estimated to be about 60 billion miles away from the sun.

The description of the new planet conformed so closely to the predictions of Nibiru, a large planetary object that many believe will collide with the earth, that the NASA press release contained a cosmic disclaimer.

If a planet is there, it’s extremely distant and will stay that way (with no chance — in case you’re wondering – of ever colliding with Earth, or bringing ‘days of darkness’).”

Coincidentally, the head researcher, astronomer Mike Brown, also tweeted a dismissal of the Nibiru theory.

The similarities between Nibiru, also called Planet X, and the new NASA discovery are remarkable nonetheless. Brown and his co-researcher, Konstantin Batygin, based their conclusion of a ninth planet on their observation of six known objects in the distant Kuiper Belt, a region of icy bodies stretching from Neptune outward toward interstellar space. All the objects displayed elliptical orbits pointing in the same direction. The only explanation for this tilted orbit was the gravitational influence of another, much larger object.

Over long periods of time, Planet Nine will make the entire solar-system plane precess or wobble, just like a top on a table,” Batygin said.

Similarly, Planet X was first proposed by astronomers in the 19th century to explain observed irregularities in the orbits of Uranus and the newly-discovered Neptune. Though still the source of valid scientific conjecture, the Planet X theory was reworked into an apocalyptic version in the 1990s, in which planetary destruction from a planet called Nibiru is imminent.

The NASA researchers are convinced that unlike Planet X, their ninth planet does indeed exist.

There are now five different lines of observational evidence pointing to the existence of Planet Nine,” said Batygin. “If you were to remove this explanation and imagine Planet Nine does not exist, then you generate more problems than you solve. All of a sudden, you have five different puzzles, and you must come up with five different theories to explain them.”

Yuval Ovadia, whose films on Nibiru and Planet X have garnered millions of views, was skeptical of NASA’s disclaimer.

They have been denying the existence of Planet X for years, and suddenly they announce they found it,” Ovadia told Breaking Israel News incredulously. “They say that Nibiru doesn’t exist while at the same time they announce a new planet. They are just arguing about the name, not the existence of Planet X.”

The reason behind this alleged deception is clear to Ovadia.

NASA is trying to avoid generating panic,” he said. “They haven’t even sighted the new planet so it is impossible for them to know if its orbit will intersect with the Earth’s orbit. People understand this.”

Ovadia bases his theory on sources in Jewish literature relating to the Star of Jacob described in the Book of Numbers.

What I see for them is not yet, What I behold will not be soon: A star rises from Yaakov, A scepter comes forth from Yisrael; It smashes the brow of Moab, The foundation of all children of Shet. Numbers 24:17

Most notably, a section of the Zohar, the foundational work of Jewish mysticism, describes in detail an astronomical occurrence that must necessarily precede the Messiah.

Then one awful star the color of crimson will appear in the middle of the heavens, burning and sparkling in the eyes of the entire world. And a fire will appear as one flame in the northern part of the sky, for forty days, shocking the entire world. At the end of forty days, the fire and the star will battle…At that time, the Messiah will be awakened from a place called ‘the bird’s nest’, and he will be revealed in the Galilee.

Ovadia and some rabbis believes this describes the arrival of the Planet Nibiru, though this belief is not universally accepted.

Dr. Noah Brosch, a retired professor of astronomy at Tel Aviv University and director of the Wise Observatory, is skeptical of the skeptics.

They can say the new planet is Nibiru, and they can even say it is made of green cheese,” Dr. Brosch said emphatically. “Unlike these Planet X theories, NASA does not make claims until they have thoroughly checked it out. They do not deny claims without first checking the possibility that it exists. This is science and is a result of data, not made-up theories.”

Despite NASA’s advances, the ninth planet still contains several mysteries. Researchers are unsure of the origins of Planet Nine. It may be a refugee from this solar system or it may be a rogue from the outer realms that was captured by the sun’s gravity. Batygin and Brown are using the Subaru Telescope at Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii to attempt a sighting of the elusive super-planet which will put this question to rest.

Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing – Pastors Who Deny The Essentials of the Faith

The Book of Matthew warns us to “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” No one is surprised when a gender radical activist or an ISIS imam advocates polyamory nor are they shocked when an abortion rights activist promotes the murder of the unborn.

It is expected that an atheist will reject any notion of the concept of hell or a universalist who says there are many paths to Heaven. But what happens when that same infamous clamor comes from professed Christian leaders?

Here are just four of the so-called Christian leaders today whose starkly heretical positions are currently dividing Christian communities with unBiblical beliefs that undermine the faith:

Jeff Hood: Most heresies are rooted in a shred of truth that their purveyors then twist into something obscene, and such is the case with Jeff Hood, a Baptist minister in Texas who focuses on God’s infinite love for the world. He preaches that God is polyamorous, as were the disciples, contending that we should be too. The Trinity, according to Hood, as an example of a polyamorous relationship in a gross equivocation that places the divine Trinity alongside human sexual perversion.

He is quoted as saying, “The Holy Trinity is a polyamorous relationship. You can’t talk about the level of intimacy and ecstasy that these three beings are constantly experiencing without defining their relationship in such a way. Their love has always been and will always be a shared phenomenon.

We should spend our lives making sure that the love of polyamorous individuals is never denied and always protected. The Holy Trinity demands it.” He has also published on his website his belief that Christ’s twelve disciples were involved in “some sort of polyamorous relationship” and that “Not only is polyamory a positive thing, I think it’s a holy thing.”

Shannon Johnson Kershner: The belief that Christ is not the only way to salvation is not a new heresy, but instead a variation on the Universalism Heresy now promoted by the Reverend Kershner of Chicago’s 5,500-member Fourth Presbyterian Church. In a recent podcast with the Chicago Sun-Times, the question was put to her bluntly, “Is Christianity the only way to get to Heaven?” to which she replied “No.”

She went on to explain, “God’s not a Christian. I mean, we are … For me, the Christian tradition is the way to understand God and my relationship with the world and other humans and it’s the way for me to move into that relationship but I’m not about to say what God can and cannot do in other ways and with other spiritual experiences.

Yet as comforting for Rev. Kershner’s belief might be that believers of all religions may be saved, such a belief is also not Biblical. John 14:6 bring us a conversation in which Jesus says to His disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

Yet it is important to note that Rev. Kershner is not alone among her fellow Presbyterian Pastors, 45% of whom were recently revealed not to believe that only followers of Christ can be saved. How easy it is for members of the Fourth Presbyterian Church to think themselves Christian no matter what they believe, yet unfortunately at the peril of their souls.

Elizabeth Eaton: Another ‘Christian’ leader eager to deliver good news, the presiding “bishop” of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) has expressed her belief that although Hell may exist, it is entirely empty because “God doesn’t give up on those who reject Him.” The statement came from a recent interview for a podcast “Face to Faith”.

She said in the interview, “if we take a look at salvation history, ever since we got booted out of the garden, it has been God’s relentless pursuit to bring His people to God,” and that given eternity, God will continue working on everyone until eventually they will be saved.

The bishop dismisses Biblical evidence against her position simply by saying that Lutherans aren’t “literalists” as she confuses parables with clear theological statements such as Matthew 25 which tells us that the wicked “shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal.”

How disconcertingly comforting to believe that no matter what we believe, no matter how evil our actions on Earth and no matter how strong our rejection of God, that there will always be a paradise waiting for us in Heaven.

Millie Horning Peters: As if embracing a belief system so wide, liberal and inclusive that it ceases to be Christian at all isn’t enough, the Reverend Millie Horning Peters of a Kentucky United Methodist church has gained fame as the leader of a pro-abortion group.

She believes that Christian leaders should actively promote abortions and assist women in obtaining them. Her actions have followed her preaching as she has spoken at pro-abortion rallies, testified in support of laws allowing abortion and lead her parishioners in volunteering as abortion clinic escorts and driving women to abortion clinics.

She believes that “It’s time for the religious left to rise up” in support of abortion. She has accepted a position as the chair of the Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Could there be anything more diabolically deceptive that one who calls herself a Christian leader and yet promotes the murder of unborn children?
