Pope Francis Sides With Muslim Activist Groups Over Declaration Of Jerusalem As The Capital Of Israel

“Concerns about the prospective for peace in the region are the object in these days of various initiatives, among them meetings called urgently by the Arab League and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation,” the communiqué read.

On Sunday the Vatican issued a communiqué appealing for cooperation with groups like the Arab League that are concerned with the recent decision by the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Before Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Pope Francis prayed that it would remain forever divided. In the aftermath of Trump’s decision, he now expresses support for the Arab League and the Organization For Islamic Cooperation. Can you guess which side the pope is rooting for?

“Concerns about the prospectives for peace in the region are the object in these days of various initiatives, among them meetings called urgently by the Arab League and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation,” the communiqué read.

“The Holy See is attentive to these concerns, and recalling the heartfelt words of Pope Francis, reiterates its well-known position concerning the singular character of the Holy City and the essential need for respecting the status quo, in conformity with the deliberations of the international community and the repeated requests of the hierarchies of the Churches and Christian communities of the Holy Land,” it said.

The statement came just days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced his decision to move the U.S. embassy to Israel from its present location in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as well as formally recognizing the Holy City as the capital of the Israeli state. The communiqué was released in both Italian and English.

On Wednesday, Pope Francis appealed for respect for the “status quo” in Jerusalem, after the United States announced the transfer of its embassy in Israel to the Holy City.

“My thoughts now turn to Jerusalem,” the Pope said in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall after his weekly General Audience. “I cannot remain silent about my deep concern for the situation that has been created in the last days.”

“At the same time, I would like to make a heartfelt appeal for everyone’s commitment to respect the city’s status quo, in conformity with the pertinent United Nations Resolutions,” he said.

On the same day, the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano published an article titled “Trump Inflames the Middle East,” describing U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel as igniting a powder keg in the region.

The article spoke of an increased “risk of terrorism in the region” as well as “mounting fears of possible demonstrations of protest and unrest.” The announcement has given rise to “profound perplexity” even within the Trump administration, the Vatican daily declared.

In its communiqué Sunday, the Vatican reiterated its “conviction that only a negotiated solution between Israelis and Palestinians can bring a stable and lasting peace, and guarantee the peaceful co-existence of two states within internationally recognized borders.”

The statement said that the Holy See “follows with great attention the developments of the situation in the Middle East, with special reference to Jerusalem, a sacred city for Christians, Jews and Muslims from all over the world.” source

Explosion in New York: Terrorist sought revenge for Israel’s actions in Gaza

The New York terrorist told investigators that Israeli actions against Palestinians are what motivated him to carry out his “attempted terror attack” in downtown Manhattan, CNN reported. The terror suspect, 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, lives in Brooklyn and works as a taxi driver. Investigators are currently checking if he has ties to any radical Islamic organizations.

A man detonated a homemade pipe bomb today (Monday) that he was wearing inside the New York Port Authority’s underground walkway, slightly injuring three people. According to local authorities, the terror suspect was injured and is currently in police custody. The explosion that occurred at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan is considered by authorities to be an “attempted terror attack” and according to the New York Police Department (NYPD), this is an isolated incident.

New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill identified the suspect as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, a Brooklyn resident of Bangladeshi descent, who works as a taxi driver. CNN reported that according to local law enforcement officials, Ullah was motivated to carry out the attack due to Israel’s recent actions in Gaza.

As reported earlier today by JOL, CBS News and other media outlets in the US are reporting that he had another explosive device on him. The nearby A, C and E subway lines were evacuated due to the incident.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio explained that the explosion was an attempted terror attack. “Let’s be clear – this was an attempted terrorist attack,” he wrote on Twitter. “Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals. Our first responders were there quickly and the only injuries we know of right now are minor.”

Why Bosnia Matters

Croatian war criminal Slobodan Praljak killed himself by drinking poison in court last week after his guilty verdict was upheld. His conviction and death brought back into the limelight the violent break up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, which set the stage for the modern jihadi movement.

The Bosnian war saw the U.S. and its allies make mistakes that left thousands of Muslim civilians dead, undermined Western legitimacy and enabled the consolidation of the (then nascent) jihadi movements that went on to wage war against the West around the world.

What Happened?

The war was a three-way conflict fought in Croatia and Bosnia between Serbs, Croats and Bosnians. Despite the involvement of NATO forces, under the leadership of President Bill Clinton, Western powers did not prevent ethnic cleansing. Serbian and Croatian forces killed or expelled Bosnian Muslims living within Serbian and Croatian enclaves inside Bosnia.

Praljak, along with five others Croatian leaders, was convicted for participating in the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Bosnian Muslims which took place during the 1990s. Most notoriously, Serbian forces under General Ratko Mladic killed 8,000 Bosniak men and boys over a four-day massacre in the town of Srebrenica, the worst massacre on European soil since the Holocaust.

Why Does it Matter?

More than 25 years later, that conflict still impacts Muslims around the world. Besides radicalizing an entire generation, it also remains an open grievance for many. Any successful attempt to tackle questions of how radical Islam came to be so powerful has got to be honest about this war. Here are three reasons Bosnia still matters.

1.It showed the impotence of international institutions to prevent war crimes

An estimated 100,000 people were killed during the war, mostly Bosnian Muslims. They were killed in UN Safe Zones and while a no fly zone was being enforced by the United States. Evidence has recently come to light that the U.S. and its European allies knew that the Serbian military intended to overrun Srebrenica, and that the Serbians planned to make the Bosnian Muslims “vanish completely.”

Yet they elected to do nothing since they regarded the UN safe zones as “untenable” and worth sacrificing to get peace. The head of military planning for the UN even requested reinforcements for the Dutch peacekeeping force tasked with guarding Srebrenica. This request was overruled by the United States.

These horrific events underscored for millions of people worldwide that the West could not be trusted to save people when they were under threat.

2.It Radicalized a Generation

Of course terrorism is a choice. All the grievances in the world cannot make someone kill innocent people, which is not a logical response.

However, images from the Bosnian war have been used by radicals as part of their recruitment strategy since that time. They were widely broadcast at the time across the Muslim world and caused widespread anger. Islamist turned counter-extremist Maajid Nawaz recalls in his book Radical that images from the Bosnian civil war were shown to members during group meetings, with the intention of radicalizing the ideologically driven youth.

3.It Created the Beginnings of the International Jihadi Movement

Aside from the ideological impact of the Bosnian war in providing ample propaganda for a generation of jihadi recruiters, the war also saw the jihadi movement create networks and build institutions.

“There is a war between the West and Islam,” Aimen Dean, a Saudi Arabian volunteer who fought in Bosnia in 1994 and later went on to be a British spy against Al Qaeda told the BBC. “Bosnia gave the modern jihadist movement that narrative. It is the cradle.”

He joined a group called the Mujahadeen Battalion, which mobilized Muslims to come to Bosnia to fight against Slobodan Milosovic. They carried out reprisal attacks against Croatian Catholics who had murdered Muslims.

At it’s greatest strength, towards the end of the war, the battalion comprised some 1,500 men.

The networks created during that war were expanded and became more sophisticated as they switched to other theatres later. But they were forged in Bosnia, where they learnt a lot about how to organize. Now fighters from Bosnia travel to Iraq and Syria to fight for ISIS. Bosnian jihadist networks also fought in Chechenya against the Russians and in Afghanistan.

Two of the 9/11 hijackers were veterans of the Mujahadeen Battalion, as well as the murderer of American Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl.

The Bosnian debacle undermined trust in American leadership and gave ammunition to those peddling a narrative of a Western war against Islam. If radical Islam is to be defeated, we need to engage honestly and constructively with past foreign policy mistakes.

Morning Joe Calls For 25th Amendment To Be Invoked To Have President Trump Removed From Office By Force

The hosts of Morning Joe are using their show to rally members of Trump’s cabinet remove the president from office. This cabinet-led coup could happen via the 25th Amendment, host Joe Scarborough said Friday. That amendment to the Constitution, adopted in 1967, deals with replacing a president who is no longer able to “discharge the powers and duties of his office,” which these hosts say applies to Trump due to his apparent mental incapacitation.

The hosts of Morning Joe are using their show to rally members of Trump’s cabinet remove the president from office.

“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.” The 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution, Article 4

EDITOR’S NOTE: How desperately sad and pathetic it is when all the Liberals can do is call for impeachment and military coups to try and stop President Trump from draining the swamp. Libs would do well to remember that Trump beat 16 Republican opponents in the primaries, beat a bought-and-paid for by the fake news media candidate Crooked Hillary, and continues to win or battle to a draw every fight he has had in the year he has been president. So rage on, little snowflakes, rage on. Trump will mop you up after you’ve melted. #maga

“If you’ve been around mental health issues in your life … the pressure heightens, it gets worse,” Donny Deutsch said Friday. “And we should be frightened right now. We should be — there is nothing glib about it.”

“At what point do you go to article 25? [sic]” Deutsch asked.

Deutsch said he’s able to diagnose a change in Trump’s mental state: “I have known him for 20 years and I’ve spent hours and hours with him, everything from negotiating leases to at-school functions to hours and hours of interviewing him on my old show. He’s not the same guy. You can see it in his eyes and in his speech pattern, and most frighteningly his behavior. I think there’s something else happening here. If you’ve been around mental illness and whatnot, I think he’s feeling the noose around his neck tightening with Mueller.”

“So take a guy who is mentally unstable,” Deutsch continued. “Now put a gun closer — metaphorically, closer and closer to his head, and I think that’s what you’re seeing this week. I think there’s a new level, and I think we’re going to see it heightened as these two stories are coming together. His mental health and the Russian inquiry are coming together and it’s going to crescendo in even more insane behavior.”

Scarborough also predicted Trump’s mental health would deteriorate.

“My mom has dementia,” Scarborough said. “She had pre-dementia for several years. My father’s death, the pressure of that, is when we really lost her. And so it got exponentially worse very first. The more pressure you’re under in this — if this is, in fact, the problem, the worse it gets.”

Scarborough said that Trump confidantes agree with him that Trump has “mentally devolved.”

“There is no doubt mentally, and maybe it’s the pressure of the campaign and this, everybody that’s known Trump for years says he has mentally devolved, and I just want to know when it’s safe to start talking about it and writing about it,” he said.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson said mental health experts warned him that Trump’s behavior would get worse.

“I mean, it’s just extraordinary. How much worse can it get?” he asked. “I fear it can get worse, and the people who are professionals in mental health frankly tell me this doesn’t get better. This probably won’t get better. It’s not going to resolve itself somehow. And as you said, he tends to want to escape the people who could keep him on the straight and narrow, so maybe we need to shut down Mar-a-Lago.”

During a conversation about Trump’s retweets that caught the ire of British lawmakers, Deutsch went further, declaring that this behavior shows he’s a “sociopath.”

“And you know who does things without any thinking about repercussions?” he asked. “A sociopath.”

On Thursday, Scarborough said the 25th Amendment was created for situations like this.

“He is completely detached from reality, we had a New York Times and Washington Post piece saying so a couple of days ago, and the question is Mika,” Scarborough said, “if this is not what the 25th Amendment was drafted for, I would like the cabinet members serving America, not serving the president” to act accordingly.

On Friday, Scarborough was more circumspect, though still advocating for removing Trump from office.

“The 25th Amendment, again, Mika, it wasn’t put for a situation like this,” Scarborough said. “It’s hard to wonder — it’s very complicated, but you do wonder.” source

ISIS Calls for Attacks on American Kids

ISIS called for attacks against kindergartens in the U.S. in retaliation for Syrian airstrikes. (Illustrative Photo: Pixabay)ISIS is calling for attacks on American children in revenge for U.S. airstrikes that killed Syrian children, Newsweek reported.Communicating on the encrypted messaging app Telegram, one ISIS supported texted, “I wish that I could travel to Europe or America or Australia and, by Allah, burn their children with oil in place of their men and women. I would not choose a market, club, shopping center, or park…no…no…no…I would choose a kindergarten and a maternity hospital to slaughter them.”The message, which originated from the pro-ISIS media group the al-Qastantiyyah Foundation, was a call for “lone wolf” attacks in the West.“ISIS has made numerous justifications of killing children, stating in issue five of its Rumiyah magazine: ‘One should not grieve over the collateral killing of kafir [infidel] women and children’,” Rita Katz, director of the SITE Intelligence group, told Newsweek. The threat comes amid Russian airstrikes at the beginning of the week on Al-Shafah a town located in eastern Syria.  The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (based in the UK) said 53 people were killed in the strikes, including 21 children. The ongoing battle against ISIS makes avoiding civilian deaths nearly impossible as the modus operandi of the terror group is to hide among civilian populations.Watch the trailer to Clarion Project’s upcoming film KiDS: Inside the Terror Factory (working title), a documentary exploring the complex topic of the exploitation of children by extremists.

FUMBLE: NFL FAN BOYCOTT CAUSES 480,000 PEOPLE TO CANCEL THEIR ESPN SUBSCRIPTION IN MONTH OF OCTOBER ALONE

Put this together with ESPN’s daily dosage of liberal activism,  their disastrous handling of the Jemele Hill controversy, the Robert Lee fiasco, coupled with the likelihood that NFL games might soon disappear from their network; and it’s very hard to see why anyone will be watching the network in the next few years. Of course, at the rate in which the NFL is alienating its fan base, there’s every chance that the NFL won’t be the biggest sport in the land in 2021. And that’s fine, ESPN and the NFL deserve each other.

THERE ARE A VARIETY OF WAYS, IN WHICH BUSINESSES JUDGE WHETHER THEY’RE HAVING A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS DAY. HOWEVER, IF YOU’RE LOSING OVER 15,000 CUSTOMERS A DAY, THAT IS GENERALLY FROWNED UPON.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Still don’t think boycotts are effective? Try half a million former NFL fans dumping their ESPN subscriptions to protest in one month alone players disrespecting the playing of our National Anthem. The financial fallout is real, and the NFL is scrambling to find the right combination of words to make it all go away. The ironic part is that a simple but sincere apology from the League to the fans would kinda do the trick. But will they do it? Can they do it? Nope. They are going to “ride it out” until the wheels fall off. Funny thing is the wheels are already off.

No doubt, there are many frowns being worn on the faces of ESPN executives after reviewing the October Cable Coverage Estimates. ESPN lost over 15,000 subscribers for every day ending in “y,” during the month of October.

To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of losing Sacramento, California, the 35th largest city in the country, in a month. While many would welcome the loss of Sacramento, for a variety of reasons, when discussing losing a city of that size in a ratings context, it’s horrifying.

THE TRUTH BEHIND ESPN MASSIVE LAYOFFS:

ESPN’s far-Left Liberal agenda has been driving viewers away for the better part of 2017 now, but it’s reaching a fever pitch with the current NFL boycott by fans over the player’s Anthem protests. The people who cancelled their ESPN subscriptions last month in October removed $10,536,000.00 from the network’s bottom line. Ouchies, that hurts.

OF COURSE, ESPN ISN’T THE ONLY CABLE SPORTS GIANT TO LOSE MASSIVELY AMONG SUBSCRIBERS.

FS1 584,000 households in the month of October. Though, it is noteworthy, that FS1’s ESPN-esque decline has coincided with their efforts to repeat the mistakes of ESPN. In October, FS1 brought the Reverend Jesse Jackson on Undisputed, the network’s flagship debate show, featuring Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe.

Not surprisingly, Jackson bashed President Trump and used slave references to describe the how players are treated in the NFL. This move, straight out of the ESPN playbook, seemed really odd considering that FS1 has branded themselves as being everything that ESPN is not. However, considering that incident, in addition to the daily drumbeat of liberal insanity coming from Shannon Sharpe; and one gets a pretty clear picture of why the network which branded itself as the alternative to ESPN, has suddenly become just like ESPN.

Still, these numbers are particularly disastrous for ESPN. Who, due to its ever shrinking subscriber base, will likely no longer be able to afford Monday Night Football after 2021. That will leave the self-described “Worldwide Leader in Sports,” without any broadcast partnership with the biggest sports league in the land.

And that’s fine, ESPN and the NFL deserve each other. source
