The Russian foreign minister stated after meeting his US counterpart that there was “progress” on the Syrian issue as well as other conflicts.
Amid rising tensions between Washington and Moscow, Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday his country is willing to resume military cooperation with the US in Syria.
Syrian issue during his meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, adding that Russia’s president Vladimir Putin had agreed to reinstate the military cooperation between Russian and American forces in Syria, which was halted after last week’s US missile strike.
“We agree on many issues,” Lavrov said. “We also spoke about Ukraine and finding ways to resolve conflicts like the one in Ukraine and the one involving Assad.”
