First I would like to cover the Clean meat ruling in the New Covenant.
The best example one can draw goes back to Peter’s vision of Acts 10 verse 9-16:
“…Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: WHEREIN WERE ALL MANNER OF FOUR-FOOTED BEASTS OF THE EARTH, AND WILD BEASTS, AND CREEPING THINGS, AND FOWLS OF THE AIR. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Granted, the vision Peter received while in the state of trance, had a particular purpose as verses following the video presentation attest, I have heard someone, who holds that particular event as iron clad rule to keep clean meats (Kashrut) since Peter was still keeping kosher even after the Lord Jesus had already come and gone.
Now let us hear what this brother says about Clean meat (Kashrut):
ACTS 10 PROVES I CAN EAT PORK! REALLY? LETS LOOK AT THE SCRIPTURES…

Acts 10 proves I can eat Pork! Really? Lets look at the Scriptures..
Peter got the insight that God instructed him to change his attitude towards gentiles:
[Act 10:28] And he said unto them, “YE KNOW HOW THAT IT IS AN UNLAWFUL THING FOR A MAN THAT IS A JEW TO KEEP COMPANY, OR COME UNTO ONE OF ANOTHER NATION; BUT GOD HATH SHEWED ME THAT I SHOULD NOT CALL ANY MAN COMMON OR UNCLEAN.”
So it was not solely concerning eating kosher; it was concerning the “holier than thou attitude”!
The presenter of the above video quoted God’s anger upon people who ate “swine’s flesh”.
First he quoted a passage out the book of Isaiah 66 verses 15-17:
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES, AND PURIFY THEMSELVES IN THE GARDENS BEHIND ONE TREE IN THE MIDST, EATING SWINE’S FLESH, AND THE ABOMINATION, AND THE MOUSE, SHALL BE CONSUMED TOGETHER, saith the LORD.
Who were THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES?
God identified them in the following passage:
[Isaiah 65:2-4] I HAVE SPREAD OUT MY HANDS ALL THE DAY UNTO A REBELLIOUS PEOPLE, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; A PEOPLE THAT PROVOKETH ME TO ANGER CONTINUALLY TO MY FACE; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
So the identity of the REBELLIOUS PEOPLE can be established as the Covenanted Jews and we know from reading the scriptures, they were A PEOPLE THAT PROVOKETH ME (GOD) TO ANGER CONTINUALLY! The Old Covenant mostly talks about a people being prepared to birth God’s Begotten Son; the Lord Jesus Christ.
And one other point of importance, is the phrase “THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES” and since they were still under the “covenant” in force, their attempt to sanctify themselves IN THE GARDENS BEHIND ONE TREE is meaningless for ANYBODY, Covenanted or Non-Covenanted! Only God is able to sanctify us!
Our respected brother took the right verses but used them in the wrong time frame. The New Covenant was not in place yet as the Lord Jesus had not been incarnated. When reviewing the scripture; no word or phrase should be omitted like people that “provoked” God or “they that sanctify themselves” which hold the key to the correct time-line!
Let us go back to Peter’s episode as written in the book of Acts, which painted a completely different picture and demand another view.
[Acts 15:5-10] But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, THAT IT WAS NEEDFUL TO CIRCUMCISE THEM, AND TO COMMAND THEM TO KEEP THE LAW OF MOSES. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. NOW THEREFORE WHY TEMPT YE GOD, TO PUT A YOKE UPON THE NECK OF THE DISCIPLES, WHICH NEITHER OUR FATHERS NOR WE WERE ABLE TO BEAR?
So what part of this passage needs further explanation?
Let me consolidate the thought from the above passage: [why] “COMMAND THEM TO KEEP THE LAW OF MOSES…WHICH NEITHER OUR FATHERS NOR WE WERE ABLE TO BEAR?”
Then why did God dictated the law to Moses which form a part of the Old Covenant? What did God say about the Old Covenant?
[Jeremiah 31:31-34] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: NOT ACCORDING TO THE COVENANT THAT I MADE WITH THEIR FATHERS IN THE DAY THAT I TOOK THEM BY THE HAND TO BRING THEM OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT; WHICH MY COVENANT THEY BRAKE, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: BUT THIS SHALL BE THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAITH THE LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, and WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; AND WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
And the days had come; the Elders and Apostles of the Council of Jerusalem (James and Peter) had rightfully declared that day! The way I understand the scripture as written and quoted above, the New Covenant had been put in place after the crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ which marked also the beginning of the Church Age which is closing in the very near future.
THE END TIMES ARE NOW! BIBLICAL/HISTORICAL EVIDENCE (Mini Documentary and Study)
Back to Acts 15: James, the Elder and Apostle Peters’ position on the Kashrut and the Law of Moses.
[Acts 15:23-27] And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: FOR AS MUCH AS WE HAVE HEARD, THAT CERTAIN WHICH WENT OUT FROM US HAVE TROUBLED YOU WITH WORDS, SUBVERTING YOUR SOULS, SAYING, YE MUST BE CIRCUMCISED, AND KEEP THE LAW: TO WHOM WE GAVE NO SUCH COMMANDMENT: IT SEEMED GOOD UNTO US, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. FOR IT SEEMED GOOD TO THE HOLY GHOST, AND TO US, TO LAY UPON YOU NO GREATER BURDEN THAN THESE NECESSARY THINGS; THAT YE ABSTAIN FROM MEATS OFFERED TO IDOLS, AND FROM BLOOD, AND FROM THINGS STRANGLED, AND FROM FORNICATION: FROM WHICH IF YE KEEP YOURSELVES, YE SHALL DO WELL. FARE YE WELL.
James and Peter were addressing gentiles who had not follow nor been taught the Law of Moses (Torah). They were used to eat all kind of meats; swines included. The restrictions are abstain from meats offered to idols; from eating or drinking blood; from strangled animals (the blood has to be drained from the slaughtered animals; and fornications (since our body is the temple of the Holy spirit)! Keep these and YE SHALL DO WELL!
Who are we to trust?
I report, you decide!
